Zoisite with Galena & Chalcopyrite

Copperhill Mine, Polk Co., Tennessee

16.85cm x 5cm x 4cm

Ex. University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare and unusual, old time example of zoisite from Tennessee!!! This specimen hosts a group of intergrown crystals of zoisite in intimate association with galena and chalcopyrite!!! Some of the zoisite crystals have sharply defined faces, glassy luster, and areas of marked translucence!!! There are areas where both the galena and chalcopyrite are present as thin, brilliantly metallic, compressed "sheets" on the surface of the zoisite crystals!!! This is rare, old material from the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum and retains a University label and affixed catalogue numbers!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 29th!!!
