Description/Interesting Notes: A large and impressive example of zircon from South Carolina!!! This specimen consists of a large, single zircon crystal associated with riebeckite and several xanthitane crystals!!! The zircon crystal is sharp and lustrous with an attractive reddish color!!! The xanthitane crystals consist of a group of tan colored crystals perched on the darkly colored riebeckite!!! Xanthitane is a varietal name to describe what is actually an anatase pseudomorph after titanite!!! The pics hardly do this fantastic South Carolina beauty justice!!!
