This specimen consists of a highly complex zircon crystal that shows sharply defined features and lustrous faces!!! The crystal shows a sharply defined termination and displays quite handsomely!!! Hafnium is a very rare element in the mineral kingdom - occuring in just three known species!!! This is a rare example of hafnian zircon, also known as zircon var. alvite!!! This specimen came out of old museum stock and retains an old museum label as well!!! Rare material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
