Wurtzite with Greenockite Kirki, Xánthi Prefecture, Thraki Department, Greece 6.7cm x 6.3cm x 3.25cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely incredible, old time example of wurtzite from Greece!!! This specimen hosts a very rich showing of crystalline wurtzite in association with greenockite!!! The broad face of the specimen is loaded with sharp, lustrous crystals of wurtzite that measure to 5mm!!! The wurtzite is much better crystallized than the pictures show because only the more deeply colored gemmy crystals tend to show up in the pics - in person the front of the specimen is seen to be quite well crystallized!!! The wurtzite is also present as thick crystalline veins throughout the matrix and more can be seen on the reverse!!! The reverse also shows a significant amount of intense orange greenockite as well!!! This is an extraordinary example of wurtzite from this seldom represented old locality!!!
