Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of wolframite after scheelite from Connecticut!!! This specimen hosts a large, complexly modified crystal of scheelite that has been completely replaced by jet-black wolframite in association with a small amount of quartz matrix!!! The scheelite exhibits several well defined crystal faces that are much more apparent in person!!! The crystal appears to exhibit some octahedral features in a dramatically elongated form!!! This specimen is from the collection of Fred Devito and retains his original label as well!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
