Witherite

Bethel Horizon, Annabel Lee mine, Hardin Co., Illinois

8.4cm x 6.8cm x 3.68cm

Ex. Larry Krause Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent example of witherite from this classic locality!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of large witherite crystals aesthetically fanned out behind an additional cluster of witherite crystals!!! I must start by saying that this is a KILLER witherite specimen and quite striking in person!!! The crystals are very sharp, lustrous, and exhibit marked translucence throughout!!! The crystals are undamaged and pristine!!! The crystals are on a thin portion of matrix comprised partially of fluorite and sphalerite!!! This specimen is simply amazing in person!!! This specimen is from the personal collection of Larry Krause and retains his label!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 20th!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
