Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of ilmenite var. washingtonite from NEW YORK CITY!!! This specimen consists of thin, platy crystals of ilmenite var. washingtonite on a matrix of albite var. oligoclase!!! There also appears to be a small amount of somewhat massive, greenish epidote in association as well!!! This specimen retains an old label from Frederick Braun!!! Braun operated a shop on Crosby St. in New York City be between 1889 and 1894 and this specimen's old label dates to this time!!!
