Uraninite with Apatite, Fluorite, Calcite, & Biotite

Cardiff Township, Haliburton Co., Ontario, Canada

6.76cm x 4.8cm x 3.48cm

Ex. J. Cilen Collection No. 8103

Description/Interesting Notes:

An absolutely extraordinary example of uraninite from Canada!!! This specimen hosts a huge, undamaged crystal of uraninite that measures a whopping 1.45cm on edge (and over 1.9cm diagonally!) prominently perched on a matrix of calcite, apatite, fluorite, and biotite!!! A superb Canadian classic indeed!!! The uraninite crystal is undamaged and pristine all around!!! The matrix hosts numerous crystals of yellow apatite, very dark purple fluorite, and brassy books of biotite crystals in tan calcite!!! The pics don't even come close to doing this killer specimen justice!!! This specimen retains an old Cilen collection label and affixed catalogue number (it has an earlier unknown catalogue number in addition)!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 10th!!!
