Uraninite with Rutherfordine, Vandendriesscheite, & Uranophane

Lukwengule, Uluguru Mts (Uruguru Mts), Morogoro Region, Tanzania

1.07cm x .98cm x .94cm

Ex. Eckert

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare, old time example of uraninite from Tanzania!!! This specimen consists of a complex uraninite crystal that hosts a colorful coating of yellowish-tan rutherfordine, yellow urnophane, and orange vandendriesscheite!!! The uraninite crystal has numerous complex modifications thoughout!!! The associated species are quite impressive upon close examination!!! This is a significant, old time rarity - these specimens are very scarce indeed, and this is among one of the better examples I have seen!!! This specimen retains an old Seaman Museum-related label as well, noting that it was acquired from Eckert in 1953!!! The specimen is complete and in fantastic condition!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 29th!!!
