Uchucchacuaite with Rhodochrosite

Inakuraishi mine, Shakotan peninsula, Shiribeshi Province, Hokkaido, Japan

3.26cm x 2.68cm x 2.51cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

An outstanding example of this rare silver-bearing species from this historic Japanese locality!!! This specimen hosts an unusually rich showing of grayish metallic uchucchacuaite in pink rhodochrosite!!! The uchucchacuaite is present in numerous areas all throughout the specimen!!! There are numerous significant masses and veins of uchucchacuaite all over the specimen including silvery contiguous masses to over 1cm!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or a scope one can find a few crystalline features scattered about the specimen as well!!! This is a killer example of this very rare species!!! This historic locality, which is now closed, was once Japan's largest manganese deposit!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 1st!!!
