Tugtupite Ilimaussaq complex, Narsaq, Kitaa Province, Greenland 3.3cm x 2.7cm x 1.1cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of tugtupite from Greenland!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of red tugtupite in association with black crystals of aegirine and other unidentified species!!! The tugtupite has fantastic color and areas of marked translucence!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can even see some minute crystalline features in areas!!! The tugtupite fluoresces a bright red orange under SW UV and there are areas of green fluorescence as well (an unidentified species)!!! In addition to the fluorescence, the tugtupite exhibits pronounced tenebrescence (pink-magenta to deep cherry red) as well - meaning that the tugtupite shows a significant darkening of color after exposure to UV that gradually reverts back to the original color over a period of time!!!
