Tsumcorite with Quartz & Malacite

Tsumeb, Namibia

4.33cm x 2.76cm x 1.84cm

Ex. Jack Strange Collection #806

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent example of this rare species from Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts a rich showing of fine tsumcorite crystals in association with malachite!!! Tsumcorite is usually seen as thin, blade-like crystals with tabular crystals being somewhat rare!!! Upon close inspection, the crystals have a more tabular habit with pronounced luster and marked clarity!!! The crystals are quite fine and somewhat unusual for the species (Tsumeb is always full of surprises... and rare species)!!! The botryoidal malachite is a handsome accent as well!!! This is older material from the collection of Jack Strange!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 10th!!!
