Description/Interesting Notes: A killer, old time example of tourmaline from this famous locale!!! This specimen consists of a large, gemmy, intense bluish green tourmaline crystal!!! The crystal exhibits highly complex, acutely angled terminations characteristic of the locale!!! Let me just say that this specimen is WAY better than the pics show!!! The crystal has sharp, glassy faces and stunning color!!! The color of these classic Newry tourmalines is unlike that of any other and immediately recognizeable!!! The termination shows areas of highly complex etching and other features that were difficult to capture in the pics!!! Although the specimen is not complete, it displays magnificently in person - the termination is sharp and glassy - and the intense color and gemminess are simply gorgeous!!! A very striking and substantial old gem!!! This specimen is from the collection of E.G. Tribbey and retains its original label as well!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
