Torbernite

Old Gunnislake Mine, Gunnislake Area, Callington District, Cornwall, England

6.43cm x 3.1cm x 2.4cm

Ex. Ward's

Description/Interesting Notes:

A superb, old time example of torbernite from Cornwall!!! This specimen hosts a showy display of complex, intense green torbernite crystals prominently perched on a quartz matrix!!! The torbernite crystals consist of thick "books" of complex tabular forms!!! The crystals have striking green color and an almost metallic brilliance that is unlike torbernite from any other locality!!! The crystals range in size to over 2cm and are simply gorgeous in person!!! Fine, matrix examples of torbernite from Cornwall are quite scarce!!! This specimen retains an old Ward's label as well!!! Classic old time material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 24th!!!
