Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare and unique example of chromian titanite with clinochlore from Russia!!! This specimen exhibits a rich showing of
very well formed clinochlore crystals flanked by intensely colored crystals of bright green chromium titanite!!! Let me start off by
saying that the clinochlore crystals ARE NOT PURPLE as the pics show, for some reason the digital camera only "sees" them as
purple (the same phenomenon happens with alexandrite crystals as well) - in person the clinochlore crystals actually appear a gemmy
grayish that seems to change in hue depending on the lighting and they are very pleochroic as well!!! Their unique optical
properties make them very difficult to capture in pictures!!! The clinochlore crystals are absolutely exceptional in their quality with sharp,
lustrous faces, significant size, and gemmy clarity they are quite showy indeed!!! The chromian titanite crystals
have absolutely extraordinary bright green color that is quite unique in person!!! Although the crystals are not
complete, they do have lustrous faces and areas of marked clarity!!! Very showy in person!!! Rare material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
