Sulphur with Selenian Sulphur

Agrigento Province, Sicily, Italy

3.8cm x 2.7cm x 2.5cm

Ex. Tony Nikischer Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A terrific, old time example of native sulphur with some rare selenian sulphur from Italy!!! This specimen consists of a well formed single crystal of bright yellow native sulphur in association with some characteristic hydrocarbon-coated matrix and showing some alteration to rare selenian sulphur!!! Although there is some minor chipping, the crystal is complete and displays fantastically in person (WAY better than the pics show)!!! The selenian sulphur is present as the reddish-tan, somewhat opaque layer seen on the reverse (it is much more easily discerned in person)!!! Rare old time material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
