Description/Interesting Notes:
An amazing example of sugilite with several other unidentified species from Wessels!!! This specimen came from Charlie Key and had been
set aside from a lot of sugilite specimens because he believed it possibly had an undescribed species in association!!! There are clearly a number of
species present in addition to the sugilite (pectolite, possible hennomartinite, and several others)!!! However, at the
time the species weren't of interest to us - this specimen went right
into Mandy's collection of pink & purple specimens as a result of its incredible combination of colors!!! I must say that
this specimen is WAY more intensely colored than the pictures show, and the colors are much more sharply defined as well!!! This
specimen consists of an stunning
combination of intense violet sugilite (absolutely
CHOICE purple color in person) and a richly saturated magenta pink material!!! The combination of intense purple and magenta colors is
accentuated by white, black, and brown species!!! Again, please know that this specimen's color
is DRAMATICALLY MORE INTENSE THAN THE PICTURES SHOW!!! The color is absolutely CHOICE, rich and saturated!!! This specimen was actually
in our display case in Mandy's collection of pink & purple combination specimens until our recent move!!! This specimen is
guaranteed to knock your socks off in person!!! And, for the collector who wishes to do further study on the specimen, it may just hold some surprises as well!!!
