Stephanite

Freiberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany

2.03cm x .79cm x .64cm

Ex. Dr. F. P. D'Esopo Collection No. 1184

Description/Interesting Notes:

A terrific, old time example of stephanite from the type locality in Germany!!! This specimen consists of a group of intergrown prismatic crystals of grayish metallic stephanite crystals!!! The specimen has sharp faces and terminations!!! Upon close inspection one can see much more crystalline detail as well!!! Classic material!!! This specimen is from the collection of Dr. F.P. D'Esopo and retains its original collection label as well!!! Dr. D'Esopo was a friend and protege of Bill Pinch and, under his tutelage amassed a truly significant species collection of impressive breadth and quality!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 1st!!!
