Staurolite

"Snake Ridge," Brasstown, Cherokee Co., North Carolina

2.2cm x 2.14cm x 1.45cm

Ex. Albert Peppis Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A terrific example of staurolite from North Carolina!!! This specimen consists of a sharply twinned staurolite crystal!!! We acquired a small group of these classic staurolite twins and this was one of the sharpest and most equant of the group!!! This crystal is lustrous and complete!!! The reverse side still retains a thin portion of micaceous matrix that could be removed if one so desired!!! This specimen is from the Albert Peppis Collection - detailed information about both him and the collection are on our "About Me" page - so be sure to check it out!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
