Galena & Sphalerite

Commodore Mine, Amethyst Vein, Creede District, Mineral Co., Colorado

4.83cm x 4.28cm x 1.52cm

Ex. Neal Yedlin Collection (1908-1977)

Description/Interesting Notes:

A classic example of gemmy yellow green sphalerite and galena from Colorado!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of sharp, glassy, gemmy crystals of yellow green sphalerite in association with a prominent pair of cubo-octahedral galena crystals!!! The sphalerite crystals are in fantastic condition and have brilliant play of light within - very showy in person!!! The galena crystals are complete and have silvery luster with complex surface features!!! A very handsome old time specimen from this classic locality!!! This specimen came from the collection of Neal Yedlin and retains his original box and handwritten label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 5th!!!
