A fantastic example of this rare platinum-bearing species from South Africa!!! This auction is for both the sperrylite specimen and the vial of
sperrylite crystals shown with it!!! This specimen hosts a brilliantly metallic sperrylite crystal on a limonitic matrix in association with
malachite!!! The sperrylite crystal has mirror-bright luster and a very complex habit!!! Upon close inspection it almost appears as though there is a
different crystal (unknown) interupting its growth, poking up through the middle!!! The crystallization is way better than it shows in the pics!!! In addition to the main sperrylite
crystal there is another smaller crystal present as well as at least two other unidentified species!!! The vial contains numerous submillimeter crystals of sperrylite (and possibly other
rare platinum-bearing species from this locale!)!!! Upon close examination one can see many sharply formed and well defined crystals within the vial!!! These
old time sperrylite specimens from South Africa are extremely rare and next to impossible to obtain!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
