Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of smithsonite from this historic locality!!! This specimen consists of a glowing translucent cluster of botryoidal smithsonite crystals in association with a small amount of matrix!!! The crystals have a velvety-like sheen and are in fantastic condition!!! The smithsonite has a sharply zoned coloration - consisting of an outer layer of light blue-gray followed by a layer of intense blue smithsonite!!! The blue smithsonite exhibits an aesthetic multi-hued banding as well!!! This dramatic, razor-sharp zonation of colors and intense blue coloration is visble all around the specimen!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen retains a label from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum as well!!! Classic, old time material!!!
