Cadmian Smithsonite with Fluorite Sheshodonnell East Mine, Carron, The Burren, Co. Clare, Ireland 5.7cm x 3.1cm x 3cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of cadmian smithsonite with fluorite from Ireland!!! This specimen hosts several areas of intense, bright yellow, botryoidal cadmium smithsonite crystals surrounded by colorless fluorite!!! The smithsonite has striking, intense yellow color and shows marked translucence as well!!! Upon close inspection it appears that the vugs of cadmium smithsonite could actually be casts after some larger crystals (one can see what appears to be a hexagonal perimeter to one of the smaller vugs)!!! This specimen displays fantastically all around!!! This is OLD material, likely dating back a century or more!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
