Native Silver with Acanthite & Quartz var. Amethyst

Bulldog Mountain Mine, Creede District, Mineral Co., Colorado

7cm x 5.62cm x 4cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A classic example of native silver from this historic Colorado locality!!! This specimen consists of a vuggy amethyst matrix that hosts a rich showing of darkly colored acanthite and numerous tangles of native silver wires liberally scattered throughout!!! The wires of native silver exhibit a variety of metallic tones and hues ranging from tin-white to brassy-golden to antique gray!!! The bright groups of native silver stand out against the blackish masses of acanthite as well!!! The amethyst's lavender color is more pronounced in person and there are a few areas where small crystals are exposed as well!!! The pics hardly do this Colorado classic justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 14th!!!
