Native Silver in Quartz

Dolores Mine, Sierra de las Encinillas, Mun. de Carmargo, Chihuahua, Mexico

9.25cm x 4.86cm x 3.64cm

Ex. Warner & Grieger

Ex. Dr. Percy A. Foster Collection (1889-1968)

Description/Interesting Notes:

A terrific, old time example of native silver from this seldom referenced Mexican locality!!! This specimen consists of a rigid quartz matrix that is loaded with bright tin-white metallic masses of native silver throughout!!! The native silver is present both included within the matrix and emerging from it as well!!! Upon close inspection crystals of native silver can be found as well!!! There are numerous cavities filled with an ochre-colored, earthy material as well as whitish clay like material - there is silver present in this material as well!!! This specimen is quite rich indeed!!! This old time specimen retains old labels from the Foster collection and Warner & Greiger!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 6th!!!
