Native Silver with Acanthite

Batopilas, Andres del Rio District, Mun. de Batopilas, Chihuahua, Mexico

5cm x 3.32cm x 3.1cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A classic example of native silver from Mexico!!! This specimen hosts an showy network of chunky native silver crystals jutting out in all directions from the matrix!!! The matrix consists of stark white calcite and a small amount of darkly colored sphalerite!!! The native silver crystals have bright silvery metallic luster and exhibit sharp spinel-twin crystal forms as well!!! There are also numerous small crystals of silvery-gray acanthite crystals perched among the native silver crystals!!! The specimen is in fantastic condition all around!!! Very showy in person!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 3rd!!!
