Serpentine pseudomorph after Forsterite

Maxwell quarry, Chelsea, Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais RCM, Outaouais, Quebec, Canada

8.48cm x 6.5cm x 4.15cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

An incredible example of serpentine after forsterite from Canada!!! This impressive specimen consists of a large crystal of forsterite that has been completely replaced by green serpentine perched on a matrix of light blue calcite!!! The crystal is large, complete, and has sharply defined faces with marked luster!!! For a serpentine pseudomorph, this crystal is very sharp indeed!!! The serpentine has a handsome green color with a slight translucence!!! The calcite matrix shows a light blue hue that makes for a very showy specimen indeed!!! This specimen is simply incredible in every regard!!! Old material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 15th!!!
