Scorodite

Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Mun. de Mapimí, Durango, Mexico

2.7" x 1.64" x 1.1"

6.8cm x 4.16cm x 2.8cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

An absolutely magnificent example of this rare and highly sought after Ojuela species!!! This specimen consist almost entirely of rich, blue scorodite!!! The matrix is massive blue scorodite that is covered with sharp, lustrous crystals of scorodite up to several millimeters in size!!! There are at least two other minor species present under close inspection as well!!! This specimen is simply outstanding in person!!! These old time Ojuela scorodites are virtually impossible to obtain on the market!!! The color is absolutely choice - changing from a cornflower blue to a greenish blue depending on the type of lighting!!! An absolutely gorgeous rare classic from this famed locale!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
