Santarosaite

Santa Rosa Mine, Santa Rosa-Huantajaya District, Iquique Province, Tarapacá Region, Chile

4.85cm x 4.02cm x 3.14cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent example of this rare copper borate from the type locality in Chile!!! Santarosaite is one of just a handful of rare mineral species that contain both copper and boron!!! This rich specimen hosts numerous faces loaded with bright royal blue spheres of santarosaite!!! The santarosaite crystals consist of submillimeter spheroids that have intense blue color, bright glassy luster, and some slight translucence!!! Upon close inspection with a lens these crystals are unlike anything else I can think of!!! Absolutely incredible in person!!! This is a very rich and significant example of this rare species!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!!
