Quite simply one of the finest Ajo copper specimens I have EVER seen! This specimen has outrageous crystallization, with all manner of habits and modifications! There are also amazing concentric striations and stepped faces - these are much more pronounced in person, but if you examine the pics where there is a chalcotrichite included calcite set in the copper, you can see this amazing characteristic! I discover more every time I look at this superb specimen! The delicate branching of the crystal is simply breathtaking! The patina ranges from classic brilliant copper, to intense red to deep blue green. The intense reds are caused by microcrystalline chalcotrichite. There are also numerous small areas of calcite tucked in nooks and crannies throughout the specimen, that are richly included with chalcotrichite as well. The chalcotrichite included calcite crystals glow with an exceptional and amazing intensity! This specimen is pristine and free from damage. This specimen is from the William Parrish Collection, and dates to the earlier part of the 1900's! This specimen is nothing short of amazing in person! The finest Ajo copper I have seen!!
