An exceptional, gem axinite crystal from this rare old locality. This specimen was somewhat difficult to accuratly photograph, as it is absolutely stunning in person. This crystal is complete, glassy, and sharp. There are VERY FEW specimens in circulation from this locale, most of which are significantly smaller. For its size, quality, and aesthetics it is one of the finest I have seen from this locale. The color is incredibly rich and lively in person. The pleochrosim is dramatic showing a complete grade in color saturation ranging from light amber to near opaque at certain angles. An absolutely remarkable specimen in all regards.
