Rutile

Biella Province, Piedmont, Italy

4.87" x 2.6" x 1.4"

12.37cm x 6.61cm x 3.55cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A classic old time example of rutile from Italy!!! This specimen hosts several rutile crystals on a quartz matrix!!! While there are several minor rutile crystals present throughout the specimen, there is one large and particularly impressive crystal aesthetically centered on the matrix!!! This main crystal is unusually broad and measures an impressive 24mm!!! In addition, there are two unidentified species present - one consists of tiny blue specks throughout a micaceous portion of matrix and the other is a pale green group of platy crystals!!! The pics hardly to this handsome classic justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 16th!!!
