Rutile

"Indochina"

4.85cm x 3.05cm x 2.55cm

Ex. Dr. A. Lincoln Sherk Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A unique, old time example of rutile from "Indochina"!!! This specimen was labelled as coming from the antiquated "Indochina" which includes a rather large geographical area that contains several famous gem gravels and other alluvial deposits!!! This large rutile crystal exhibits a clearly alluvial form but still retains significant definition!!! The most striking and unique feature of this specimen is that the different faces actually show a flash of brilliant reflection at the right angle!!! These reflective areas are very sharply defined and geometric - to view the various flashing surfaces is quite fascinating in person - as the specimen looks so smooth and "flat" yet it will suddenly flash a sharp reflective face!!! The specimen simply needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 8th!!!
