Description/Interesting Notes: A very rare example of rutheniridosmine from Colombia!!! This is a group of small, brilliant silver metallic crystals that range in size to 1mm (which is significant for the species)!!! Rutheniridosmine is a rare combination of platinum group minerals, consisting of ruthenium, iridium, and osmium (this is also from where its name was derived - RUTHENium, IRIDium, and OSMIum)!!! Many of the crystals exhibit plate-like forms with hexagonal growth features!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see hexagonal details and characteristic features!!! RARE material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!!
