Corundum var. Ruby

Cascade Canyon, San Antonio Canyon, San Gabriel Mts, San Bernardino Co., California

7cm x 6cm x 3.18cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of ruby from California!!! This specimen hosts some extraordinary crystals for the locality!!! This specimen hosts crystals that range in size to nearly 1.4cm and have sharp, lustrous faces and marked clarity!!! The crystals have a unique purplish pink color that a bit more reddish than the pics show!!! There is one crystal that hosts an area that is particularly gemmy for the locality and the remainder of the crystals have marked clarity in areas as well!!! This is a KILLER example of the species for this locality!!! This is truly an amazing California ruby!!! This specimen came from a single large boulder that produced a number of the finest specimens from this rare small find!!! Upon close inspection there are several other species in association, including fuschite, graphite, pyrite, and at least two or three unidentified species as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
