5.67cm x 4.6cm x 2.05cm

Ex. Dr. A. Krantz (1809-1872)

Ex. Michigan College of Mines No. 9710,
Ex. A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum No. DM 20619

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic, old time example of tourmaline and lepidolite from the Czech Republic!!! This locality is actually the type locality for lepidolite!!! This specimen consists of a rich matrix of compact, deep purplish pink lepidolite that hosts numerous light pink crystals of tourmaline var. rubellite running through it!!! The tourmaline crystals are well defined and have marked luster!!! The lepidolite is sparkly, richly colored and slightly translucent in areas!!! This specimen retains old labels from Dr. August Krantz (1809-1872), Michigan College of Mines, and the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Classic old time material!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
