Roeblingite

(NJZ Mill Site) Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex Co., New Jersey,

7.45cm x 4.3cm x 3.6cm

Ex. Robert E. Jenkins II Collection No. 7236

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of this rare and sought after species from Franklin!!! This specimen hosts a large, irregular mass of whitish roeblingite in a matrix of andradite, franklinite, hendricksite, and other related species!!! The mass of roeblingite is contiguous and measures an impressive 3.8cm at its greatest dimension!!! This specimen is from the personal collection of Bob Jenkins and retains its original personal collection label as well!!! Under SW UV, the roeblingite fluoresces a violet-bluish color and there are tiny spots of green-yellow willemite scattered throughout the specimen as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 19th!!!
