Rhodochrosite on Quartz after Rhodochrosite with Manganite N'Chwaning Mines, Kuruman, Kalahari manganese fields, Northern Cape Province, South Africa 3.33cm x 2cm x .86cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A unique example of rhodochrosite from South Africa!!! This specimen consists of balls of rhodochrosite rhombs that have been completely replaced by quartz that hosts several scattered rhodochrosite crystals and is framed by blades of lustrous black manganite!!! Upon close inspection one can see that the light pink quartz pseudomorphs are covered with very tiny quartz microcrystals (upon inspection on the reverse, one can see that they are solid quartz pseudomorphs)!!! The rhodochrosite crystals are glassy and gemmy with light pink color!!! A very unique and showy combination specimen indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
