Rhodochrosite and Quartz

Sunnyside Mine, Eureka District, San Juan Co., Colorado

3.28" x 2.64" x 1.06"

8.34cm x 6.7cm x 2.7cm

Ex. Robert E. Jenkins II Collection No. 9997

Description/Interesting Notes:

An aesthetic old-time example of rhodochrosite from Colorado!!! This specimen consists of a gorgeous combination of curious alternating "leaves" of pink and white rhodochrosite and quartz!!! The white "leaves" consist of slightly concave, irregularly-shaped plates of druzy quartz!!! The pink "leaves" are much the same, however they contain a core of pink rhodochrosite!!! This specimen is singularly unique and simply needs to be seen in person to be appreciated!!! The pics hardly come close to doing it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 2nd!!!
