Description/Interesting Notes:
A rich example of this rare germanium-bearing species from the type locality!!! This specimen consists of a rich showing of reddish metallic
renierite in association with a brilliant golden streak of chalcopyrite!!! The majority of this specimen appears to be comprised of renierite
however, upon close inspection there are several other sulfides (some minor sphalerite, unidentified grains, etc.)
in association as well!!! There are several areas that would be promising for further analysis and there are some curious, unidentified
translucent crusts on some areas of the renierite as well!!! All in all, simply a fantastic example of renierite!!! This specimen is from the
collection of Dr. F.P. D'Esopo and retains his original label (with Bill Pinch acquisition note) as well!!! Dr. D'Esopo was a friend and
protege of Bill Pinch (from whom he acquired many of his specimens) and
under his tutelage amassed a truly significant species collection of impressive breadth and quality!!!
