Pyrosmalite-(Mn) North Mine, Broken Hill, Yancowinna Co., New South Wales, Australia 5.8cm x 4.63cm x 1.67cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of this rare species from Broken Hill!!! These specimens is comprised almost entirely of crystalline manganopyrosmalite!!! This specimen consists of several large balls of intergrown pyrosmalite-(Mn) crystals with a small amount of calcite and a small pale green fluorite crystal in association!!! The pyrosmalite-(Mn) crystals are highly lustrous with reddish brown color and a slight translucence!!! This specimen is crystallized all around - there is much more crystallization than it appears in the pics!!! This is a very rare species from Broken Hill and specimens of this caliber are quite scarce indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
