Polybasite

Tonopah-Belmont mine, Tonopah, Tonopah District, Nye Co., Nevada

11.2cm x 7.45cm x 5.05cm

Ex. A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum #DM-3636

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of polybasite from this famous old time Nevada silver locality!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of polybasite on matrix!!! The broad face of the specimen hosts a significant showing of complexly intergrown groups of polybasite crystals!!! Upon close inspection one can see that the polybasite is quite well crystallized and the oriented groups of polybasite crystal faces show broad flashes of luster in person!!! This specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains its original label as well as its original antique, glass-lined specimen box from the museum!!! This specimen dates to the early 1900's!!! Classic old time material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 27th!!!
