Plumbogummite with Pyromorphite

Huelgoat, Finistere, Brittany, France

1.82cm x 1.05cm x .95cm

Ex. Sorbonne Museum

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare, old time example of plumbogummite from the type locality!!! This specimen consists of a rich mass of amber to honey-orange colored plumbogummite in association with a small amount of matrix!!! The plumbogummite shows characteristic botryoidal features with marked luster and clarity that ranges from translucent to gem (shockingly, there is a significant area that could actually yeild a small gemstone)!!! It is really quite exceptional for what it is!!! Old time examples of plumbogummite from the type locality are rarely seen on todays market!!! This specimen was part of a pair of specimens that came from the Sorbonne Museum in France!!! Rare, old material that likely dates back over a century or more!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
