Native Platinum

Goodnews Bay, Bethel Borough, Alaska

.91cm x .82cm x .46cm

1.9 grams

Description/Interesting Notes:

An impressive example of native platinum from Alaska!!! This specimen consists of a highly complex, alluvial crystal of native platinum!!! Upon close inspection in person, one can see some sharply defined crystalline features throughout the specimen - consisting of areas of oriented, stepped features with brilliant luster!!! There are also a some minute, submillimeter grains of another, slightly darker unidentified species present as well!!! Usually examples of native platinum from this locality are less than a few millimeters, however this specimen has significan size for this locale (and there are likely some rare PGM species in association as well)!!! Rare material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 13th!!!
