Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique, old time example of phenakite and albite after beryl from Brazil!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of
intergrown albite crystals that hosts a "wheel" of glassy phenakite crystals and
form a cast after a large, prismatic hexagonal beryl crystal!!! The hexagonal form of the
original beryl crystal is clearly outlined by the albite crystal cast!!! The
phenakite crystals are sharp and have bright, brilliantly glassy faces!!! The crystals
are arranged in a well formed disc or "wheel" of solid, intergrown crystals (one can see light pass through them!)!!! The
individual phenakite crystals are sharply defined and undamaged - ranging in size up to over 1.1cm!!! There are a few other
phenakite crystals scattered about the specimen as well!!! Upon close inspection, there is some brownish, translucent material on some of
the crystals and around the specimen - some of it is actually hyalite opal that fluoresces a bright green under UV!!! This is an amazing
specimen indeed!!!

This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired
the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting
minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was
originally from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
