An absolutely INCREDIBLE example of petzite and native gold from Colorado!!! This specimen hosts a significant showing of
of darkly colored petzite and native gold on a quartz matrix in association with sphalerite and galena!!!
This specimen hosts numerous grains and masses of darkly colored petzite scattered about the matrix, but most notably, there
are some very well formed crystals present in a vug in close association with some brilliant native gold!!! There are
several masses of native gold present as well as some areas of finely intergrown native gold and petzite as well!!!
Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see that there are a few significant, well formed crystals of petzite present that are
fantastic examples of the species!!! This specimen WAY better than the pictures show!!! This specimen came from old
material that came from the A.E. Seaman Museum - the material had not been catalogued but was noted as coming
from the German mineralogist B. Klose!!! Rare old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
