Penfieldite with Boleite Sierra Gorda District, Antofagasta Region, Chile 3.7cm x 3.05cm x 1.7cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of this rare species from Chile!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of colorless to whitish crystals of penfieldite in association with numerous submillimeter crystals of bright blue boleite!!! The penfieldite crystals are present as highly complex, flat-laying crystals scattered around the matrix as well as prismatic crystals in the vugs and recesses!!! The penfieldite crystals are much more significant and numerous than the pics show!!! The boleite crystals have intense blue color and, upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see their habits as well!!! There is one area of densely intergrown boleite crystals that appears to possibly be pseudomorphic as well!!! The penfieldite fluoresces yellow under SW UV as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
