Pectolite with Chalcopyrite & Calcite

Erie Railroad Cut (Bergen Archways), Jersey City, Bergen Hill, Hudson Co., New Jersey

8.7cm x 7.14cm x 6.05cm

Ex. Michigan College of Mines #7004

Ex. A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum #DM-18334

Description/Interesting Notes:

An old time example of pectolite with calcite from this historic New Jersey locale!!! This specimen hosts several intergrown sprays of pectolite crystals in association with calcite and scattered tiny masses of chalcopyrite!!! The pectolite crystals have surprising luster and marked translucence!!! This specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains its original museum label and glass-lined specimen box!!! The pectolite crystals are really quite nice and there is even an area where the terminations are exposed!!! These old time Bergen Hill specimens date back over a century!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
