A superb example of precious boulder opal from Australia!!! This is a large, rich, and impressive example of boulder opal that weighs over
1.5Kg (1511g)!!! This specimen hosts numerous very thick veins of previous gem opal loaded with intense fire that snake their way throughout the
attractive ironstone matrix!!! This specimen is not just a face of opal on matrix - this specimen is LOADED
with opal throughout the entire specimen!!! In addition to all of the superb, top quality precious opal, even the ironstone matrix is
quite impressive - with attractive concentric bands of varying shades of brown!!! When viewed from the top, one can see that
this specimen is comprised of a surprisingly well-ordered network of precious opal veins and ironstone!!! The concentric rings of ironstone are
encapsulated by veins of fiery precious opal!!! This specimen is large and showy - it is an actual BOULDER of boulder opal!!! This specimen
was actually a display piece in an old collection however it is quite valuable in and of itself as gem rough!!! In person this specimen is VERY showy and
WAY, WAY better than the pictures show!!! Simply an amazing example of this prized gem species!!!
