Melonite & Native Gold pseudomorph after Calaverite Cresson Mine, Eclipse Gulch, Cripple Creek District, Teller Co., Colorado 1.3cm x .46cm x .05cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of melonite and native gold after calaverite from this classic Colorado locale!!! This specimen consists of a calaverite crystal that has been replaced by sparkling silver metallic crystals of melonite intergrown with tiny crystals of native gold!!! While the overall specimen retains the original form of the calaverite crystal, upon close examination one can see a network of tiny crystals of melonite and native gold!!! These specimens are quite rare and dated back nearly a century!!! Classic rare material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
